Where the data comes from
Listings come from public sources — mostly OpenStreetMap — and each record keeps its origin. Before going live, every listing is screened automatically for a usable contact, a real business name and duplicates.
What the ✓ means
The ✓ is not the default — it is earned. It appears only once we've independently checked that contact against the business's own website, and it carries the date of that check. If a check later fails, the listing goes offline and back for review.
To be straight with you: so far 44,551 of 448,353 listings carry that badge, and we keep checking. Everything else is shown without a ✓, exactly as it comes from the source. A listing with no ✓ isn't wrong — it just hasn't been confirmed by us yet.

Data & licence
Most of this directory is derived from OpenStreetMap, licensed under ODbL 1.0. That makes our enriched dataset a Derivative Database: we make it available on request under the same licence (ODbL 1.0) — email [email protected]. Editorial content, logos and layout are not covered by it.
